Site Investigation Techniques:
BEK has extensive experience in the design and implementation of site investigation works to facilitate the assessment of ground conditions across a variety of projects from single residential property’s or large residential/commercial developments. Site investigations are typically undertaken as part of contamination, geotechnical and coal mining assessments to remove risk and to facilitate new development. At BEK we have carried out field works across a wide variety of brownfield sites including but not limited to: gas works, petrol stations, former cotton mills, RAF bases and operational retail estates.
Many site investigations are often precluded by a Preliminary Risk Assessment which provides a review of all relevant background information for the site (including previous and present contaminative uses) to provide a scope of works from which to carry out site investigation. Following completion of a PRA, a range of field investigation techniques including trial pits and a number of borehole methods (including those stated above) can be employed to address any potential risks at the site.
At BEK our experienced teams will tailor an investigation to suit the needs of the client incorporating a variety of in situ geo-technical testing and sampling techniques to address both geo-technical and/or contamination issues. Our experienced and proactive nature dictates that however challenging the logistics or tight the time scales we can consistently deliver cost-effective projects to a high standard.
