PROPOSALS:

Undertake window sample boreholes within a school classroom

BRIEF:

Understand the ground conditions due to subsidence.

BEK WORK:

We utilised an Electric window sampling rig (rather than diesel drilling rig) used to minimise the disruption/pollution within the classroom. With safety of highest priority, our team wheeled the rig into the school and began;

a concrete core was drilled prior to the main drilling and then replaced and concrete reinstated. The team drilled two boreholes to a maximum depth of 6.45m below ground level, ensuring the stability of the classroom.
